Artist and illustrator, Tim Pond, will give a workshop

on using hand lettering in your journal:

Tim will introduce fun and beautiful hand lettering techniques from calligraphy to sketching in the baseline, X-height and ascender, then decorate your letters with natural motifs.

In this workshop, attendees will be inspired with a brief introduction to each technique and live demonstrations. Then, step-by-step attendees will learn how to sketch each letter and then combine them to create words related to nature journaling. Have several A3 sheets of paper, pencils and colouring pencils ready. It is also recommended that participants have a pair of scissors and a pritt stick glue ( other manufacturers are available!), as it is easier to sketch letters individually and then combine. Also, gather some visual material to act as a visual reference to decorate your type, from mushrooms to silhouettes of stags!
